
LME aluminium opened at US$2,458 per tonne on Wednesday and closed at US$2,489 per tonne, an increase of US$26 per tonne or 1.06 per cent.

On January 12, Thursday, the LME aluminium cash bid price swamped in a long time by US$4.50 per tonne or 0.18 per cent, closing at US$2,446 per tonne, and the LME aluminium official settlement price faced a US$4 per tonne or 0.16 per cent decline to rest at US$2,447 per tonne.
The 3-month bid price witnessed a drop of US$10.50 per tonne or 0.42 per cent, officially anchoring at US$2,475.50 per tonne, and the 3-month offer price saw a US$ 11 per tonne or 0.44 per cent drop to halt at US$2,476 per tonne.
December 24 bid price and December 24 offer price stood at US$2,650 per tonne and US$2,655 per tonne on Thursday, with a loss of US$15 per tonne or 0.56 per cent.
LME aluminium opening stock went down the graph by 4,825 tonnes or 1.17 per cent to settle at 408,875 tonnes from 413,700 tonnes recorded mid-week.
Live warrants totalled 192,175 tonnes, with a fall of 3,400 tonnes or 1.74 per cent. Cancelled warrants read 216,700 tonnes, with a decline of 1,425 tonnes or 0.65 per cent.
Only the 3-month Asian Reference Price came in at US$2,483.86 per tonne after a slight hike of US$27.36 per tonne or 1.11 per cent.
SHFE aluminium price
Today, on January 13, the SHFE benchmark aluminium price has shelved itself at US$2,735 per tonne, with a rise of 1.15 per cent or US$31 per tonne. The SHFE aluminium prices have shown positive growth this week, with today, Friday the 13th, being the sixth day of a continuous hike.
The most-traded SHFE 2302 aluminium contract opened at RMB 18,310 per tonne overnight before closing at RMB 18,365 per tonne, up RMB 130 per tonne or 0.71 per cent.
The most-traded SHFE 2302 aluminium closed up 0.58 per cent or RMB 105 per tonne at RMB 18,340 per tonne, with open interest down 16,276 lots to 112,780 lots.
