LME benchmark aluminium price ascends to US$2252/t; SHFE aluminium price dwindles by US$1/t

LME aluminium opened at US$2224 per tonne on Monday, with its low and high at US$2221.5 per tonne and US$2224 per tonne, respectively, before closing at US$2263.5 per tonne, up US$38 per tonne or 1.71 per cent.

The LME aluminium live price chart, on October 30, witnessed an overall hike in aluminium prices, with the LME aluminium cash bid price settling at US$2,251 per tonne with an addition of US$81 per tonne or 3.73 per cent and the LME aluminium official price augmented by US$81.50 per tonne or 3.75 per cent to officially close at US$2,252 per tonne.

If we consider the price catalogued on October 31, last year, we can calculate a Year-on-Year influx of US$55 per tonne or 2.5 per cent, from US$2,197 per tonne recorded on that day. 

London Metal Exchange graph displayed that the 3-month bid price and the 3-month offer price have increased by US$66 per tonne or 3.01 per cent to park at US$2,257 per tonne and US$2,258 per tonne.

The December 24 bid price and the December 24 offer price have seen a positive growth of US$64 per tonne or 2.77 per cent, settling at US$2,372 per tonne and US$2,377 per tonne.

LME aluminium opening stock recorded a slump of 2,000 tonnes or 0.42 per cent, arriving at 476,725 tonnes. Live warrants stood at 203,800 tonnes, with no alteration at all. Cancelled warrants halted at 272,925 tonnes, with a plunge of 2,000 tonnes or 0.73 per cent. 

LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price stopped at US$2,230 per tonne, up US$24.44 per tonne or 1.1 per cent.

SHFE aluminium price

Today, on October 31, the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) aluminium price chart flashed shallow market trends, with the official SHFE price halting at US$2,626 per tonne, following a minor loss of US$1 per tonne or 0.04 per cent. When we mark the SHFE aluminium price on October 31, last year, a year-on-year rise of US$151 per tonne or 6.1 per cent can be measured from US$2,475 per tonne. 

Overnight, the most-traded SHFE 2312 aluminium contract opened at RMB 19270 per tonne, with its low and high at RMB 19195 per tonne and RMB 19305 per tonne before closing at RMB 19225 per tonne, up RMB 30 per tonne or 0.16 per cent. 

SHFE 2307 aluminium added RMB 595 per tonne or 3.38 per cent to RMB 18,185 per tonne. The open interest fell 11,785 lots to 256,640 lots.
