LME aluminium prices slide up to 1.53% as warehouse stocks ease to 243,850t

London Metal Exchange (LME) aluminium prices declined on September 15, with cash, three-month and longer-dated contracts all settling below their previous-session levels. LME warehouse stocks also recorded a small decline, while the Asian reference price and alumina Platts price moved higher.
The LME aluminium cash bid price fell 1.53 per cent to USD 3,259.50 per tonne on September 15 from USD 3,310 per tonne previously, while the cash offer price dropped 1.54 per cent to USD 3,260 per tonne from USD 3,311 per tonne.
The three-month aluminium bid price decreased 0.64 per cent to USD 3,235 per tonne from USD 3,256 per tonne. The corresponding offer price also slipped 0.64 per cent to USD 3,236 per tonne from USD 3,257 per tonne.
For the Dec-27 contract, both the bid and offer price declined 0.54 per cent. The bid price fell to USD 3,153 per tonne from USD 3,170 per tonne, while the offer price eased to USD 3,158 per tonne from USD 3,175 per tonne.
The LME aluminium Asian reference price increased 0.22 per cent to USD 3,251.50 per tonne on September 15, compared with USD 3,244.50 per tonne on September 14.
LME aluminium opening stocks stood at 243,850 tonnes, down 0.10 per cent from 244,100 tonnes in the previous session.
Live warrants declined 0.21 per cent to 238,675 tonnes from 239,175 tonnes, while cancelled warrants climbed 5.35 per cent to 4,925 tonnes from 4,675 tonnes.
LME alumina Platts price rose 0.24 per cent to USD 355.80 per tonne from USD 354.95 per tonne in the previous session.
