LME aluminium price surges by US$29/t to peg at US$3,093/t; SHFE price drops by US$30/t

Three-month LME aluminium opened at $3,090 per tonne and rose 0.16% to close at $3,100 per tonne on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, January 26, LME aluminium cash (bid) price hiked by US$29.5 per tonne or by 0.96% to total at US$3,092.50 per tonne. LME aluminium official settlement price also surged by US$29 per tonne or by 0.94% to close at US$3,093 per tonne. 3-month bid price and 3-month offer price settled at US$3,079.50 per tonne and US$3,080 per tonne. December 23 bid price and December 23 offer price also clocked at US$2,800 per tonne and US$2,805 per tonne.

LME aluminium opening stock was recorded at 835000 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants for the same day came in at 451525 tonnes and 383475 tonnes.

LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price totalled at US$3,109.46 per tonne.

SHFE aluminium price

On Thursday, January 27, the benchmark aluminium price for SHFE decreased by US$30 per tonne to peg at US$3,375 per tonne.

The most-traded SHFE 2203 aluminium closed up 1.87% or RMB 395 per tonne to RMB 21525 per tonne, with open interest up 9611 lots to 216408 lots.
