LME aluminium price slips by US$30/t to score at US$3,079.50/t; SHFE price drops by US$44/t

LME aluminium opened at US$3,105 per tonne last Friday and closed at US$3,022 per tonne, down US$92.5 per tonne or 2.97%.

On Friday, January 21, LME aluminium cash (bid) price dropped by US$30 per tonne or by 0.96% to close at US$3,079/t. LME aluminium official settlement price also went down by US$30 per tonne or by 0.96% to peg at US$3,079.50 per tonne. 3-month bid price and 3-month offer price settled at US$3,060 per tonne and US$3,061 per tonne. December 23 bid price and December 23 offer price registered at US$2,728 per tonne and US$2,733 per tonne, for the same day.

LME aluminium opening stock totalled at 865950 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants for the same day also stood at 452325 tonnes and 413625 tonnes.

LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price came in at US$3,079.84 per tonne.

SHFE aluminium price

On Monday, January 24, the benchmark aluminium price for SHFE has slipped by US$44 per tonne to clock at US$3,330 per tonne.

The most-traded SHFE 2203 aluminium closed down 0.28% or RMB 60 per tonne to RMB 21430 per tonne, with open interest up 3109 lots to 217675 lots.

The most-traded SHFE 2203 aluminium contract opened at RMB 21,310 per tonne during last Friday’s night session, with the highest and lowest prices at RMB 21,600 per tonne and 21,180 per tonne before closing at RMB 21,220 per tonne, down RMB 305 per tonne or 1.42%.
