
Three-month LME aluminium slid 0.72 per cent to settle at US$ 2269 per tonne last Friday, and is expected to move between US$ 2245-2280 per tonne today.

LME aluminium cash (bid) price and LME official settlement price plunged by US$ 17.50 per tonne or 0.78 per cent to stand at US$ 2250 per tonne as of Friday, April 9, following a hike from US$ 2239.50 per tonne to US$ 2267.50 per tonne on the previous day. 3-months bid price and 3-months offer price decreased by US$ 12.50 per tonne from US$ 2280 per tonne to US$ 2267.50. Dec 22 bid price and Dec 22 offer price also inched down to clock at US$ 2308 per tonne on April 9 compared to US$ 2314 per tonne on April 8.
The LME aluminium opening stock decreased from 1860850 tonnes to 1854250 tonnes. Live Warrants totalled 1337125 tonnes, while Cancelled Warrants stood at 517125 tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-months Asian Reference Price came in at US$ 2274.02 per tonne as of April 9.
SHFE Aluminium Price Trend
Benchmark aluminium price for SHFE dwindled as well by US$ 20 per tonne to stand at US$ 2651 per tonne on Monday, April 12, 2021.
The most-active SHFE 2105 aluminium contract inched up 0.03 per cent to close at RMB 17,515 per tonne last Friday night, with open interest losing 2,185 lots to 184,000 lots. It is likely to fluctuate between RMB 17,350-17,800 per tonne today, while spot cargoes will be traded between discounts of RMB 10 per tonne and premiums of RMB 10 per tonne.
