
LME aluminium opened at US$2,418 per tonne on Monday and closed at US$2,440 per tonne, up 0.78 per cent.

On Monday, August 8, both LME aluminium cash bid price and LME aluminium official settlement price climbed down the graph by US$12 per tonne or 0.49 per cent to settle at US$2,435 per tonne and US$2,435.50 per tonne.
3-month bid price and 3-month offer price went down by US$8 per tonne or 0.32 per cent and US$7 per tonne or 0.28 per cent to rest at US$2,432 per tonne and US$2,434 per tonne.
December 23 bid price and December 23 offer price also descended by US$10 per tonne or 0.40 per cent to score at US$2,475 per tonne and US$2,480 per tonne.
LME aluminium opening stock settled at 287425 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants closed at 154800 tonnes and 132625 tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference price, on the other hand, grew by US$9.92 per tonne or 0.41 per cent to close at US$2424.24 per tonne.
SHFE aluminium price
Benchmark aluminium price for SHFE increased by US$12 per tonne or 0.43 per cent to rest at US$2,748 per tonne as of Tuesday, August 9.
The most-traded SHFE 2209 aluminium closed down 0.05 per cent or RMB 10 per tonne to RMB 18,415 per tonne, with open interest down 8,831 lots to 166,701 lots.
The most-traded SHFE 2209 aluminium contract opened at RMB 18,470 per tonne overnight but then dropped after hitting a brief high before closing at RMB 18,435 per tonne, up 0.05 per cent.
