Benchmark aluminium price on the London Metal Exchange closed the week on Thursday, December 31, lower by US$ 44 per tonne or 2.18 per cent at US$ 1978 per tonne.
LME aluminium cash (bid) price and LME official settlement price started the week on Tuesday, December 29, at US$ 2000 per tonne, down by US$ 22 per tonne from US$ 2022 per tonne on December 24. On Wednesday, December 30, the prices slipped further by US$ 4.5 per tonne to stand at US$ 1995.50 per tonne. Extending the decline by US$ 17.5 per tonne, both LME aluminium cash (bid) price and LME official settlement price came in at US$ 1978 per tonne on Thursday, December 31. On Friday, January 1, the London Metal Exchange was closed for the New Year holiday.
3-months bid price and 3-months offer price stood at US$ 2004 per tonne on Tuesday, December 29, plunging by US$ 21.50 per tonne from US$ 2025.50 per tonne. On December 30, the prices decreased to US$ 1997 per tonne and further to US$ 1980.50 per tonne on Thursday, December 31.
Dec 21 bid price and Dec 21 offer price rolled down by US$ 22 per tonne from US$ 2030 per tonne on December 29 to US$ 2008 per tonne on December 31.
SHFE Aluminium Price Trend
Benchmark aluminium price for SHFE began the week on December 28 at US$ 2445 per tonne, declining by US$ 20 per tonne from US$ 2465 per tonne on December 25. On Tuesday, December 29, the price decreased further to US$ 2412 per tonne. On Wednesday, December 30, SHFE aluminium price increased marginally for an intermittent period by US$ 1 per tonne to US$ 2413 per tonne, followed by a decrease again on December 31 to US$ 2398 per tonne. On Friday, January 1, the SHFE market was closed for the New Year holiday. The SHFE aluminium price was bearish this week by US$ 47 per tonne.
