LME aluminium price hikes by US$50.5/t to stand at US$2,696/t; SHFE price ascends by US$37/t
On Tuesday, December 21, LME aluminium cash (bid) price hiked by US$50 per tonne or by 1.89 percent, while LME aluminium official settlement price for the same day soared up by US$50.5 per tonne or by 1.90 percent, respectively. The prices stood at US$2,695 per tonne for LME aluminium cash (bid) and US$2,696 per tonne for LME aluminium official settlement price. 3-month bid price and 3-month offer price for the same day closed at US$2,714 per tonne and US$2,716 per tonne. December 22 bid price and December 22 offer price totalled at US$2,698 per tonne and US$2,703 per tonne.
LME aluminium opening stock stood at 971600 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants was recorded at 754300 tonnes and 217300 tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price registered at US$2,686.63 per tonne.
SHFE Aluminium Price Trend
On Wednesday, December 22, the benchmark aluminium price for SHFE moved up by US$37 per tonne to peg at US$3,101 per tonne.
The most-traded SHFE 2201 aluminium closed down 0.56 percent or RMB 120 per tonne to RMB 19600 per tonne, with open interest down 9958 lots to 115741 lots.
The most-liquid SHFE 2201 aluminium contract rose 1.33 percent to settle at RMB 19,805 per tonne overnight. Three-month LME aluminium rose 3.96 percent to settle at US$2,768.5 per tonne yesterday.
