
LME aluminium opened at US$2,201.5 per tonne on Wednesday, with its high and low at US$2,229 per tonne and US$2,199.5 per tonne, respectively, before closing at US$2,201 per tonne, a slight decrease of US$0.5 per tonne or 0.02 per cent from the previous trading day.

On Thursday, August 31, both LME aluminium cash bid price and LME aluminium official settlement price gained US$25 per tonne or 1.16 per cent to score at US$2,165 per tonne and US$2,165.50 per tonne. As per the LME graph, both 3-month bid price and 3-month offer price expanded by US$24.5 per tonne or 1.12 per cent to close at US$2,203 per tonne and US$2,204 per tonne.
December 24 bid price and December 24 offer price ascended by US$24 per tonne to halt at US$2,352 per tonne and US$2,357 per tonne. LME aluminium opening stock came in at 515750 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants closed at 227200 tonnes and 288550 tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price hiked by US$40.62 per tonne or 1.87 per cent to clock at US$2,211 per tonne.
SHFE aluminium price
Today, on September 1, the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) aluminium benchmark price surged by US$41 per tonne or 1.55 per cent to US$2,673 per tonne.
Overnight, the most-traded SHFE 2310 aluminium contract opened at RMB 18,975 per tonne, with the lowest and highest prices at RMB 18,930 per tonne and RMB 19,025 per tonne before closing at RMB 18,985 per tonne, up RMB 50 per tonne or 0.26 per cent from the previous trading day.
