LME aluminium price edged W-o-W decline of 0.87% to US$2625/t this week; SHFE price settled 0.75% higher at US$2958/t

The LME aluminium benchmark price closed the week, ended December 10, at 0.87 per cent or US$23/t lower than US$2,648 per tonne on December 3, while.the SHFE aluminium price settled 0.75 per cent or USS$22/t higher this week compared to US$2,936 per tonne on December 3.

LME aluminium cash (bid) price and LME aluminium official settlement price opened the week on Monday, December 6, with a decline of US$47.5 per tonne or 1.79 percent to come in at US$2,599.50 per tonne and US$2,600.50 per tonne, respectively. On Tuesday, December 7, the prices increased by US$25 per tonne and US$24.50 per tonne to stand at US$2,624.50 per tonne and US$2,625 per tonne. They inched up the next day to US$2,625 per tonne and US$2,626 per tonne and further rose on December 9 to US$2,630 per tonne and US$2,630.50 per tonne, respectively. On Friday, December 10, both LME aluminium cash (bid) price and LME aluminium official settlement price dropped by US$6 per tonne and US$5.5 per tonne to close the week at US$2,624 per tonne and US$2,625 per tonne.

3-month bid price and 3-month offer price hovered around US$2,585 per tonne and US$2,586 per tonne on December 6, which moved up the next day by US$34 per tonne to US$2,619 per tonne and US$2,620 per tonne. On Wednesday, December 8, both the prices grew by US$6 per tonne and US$7 per tonne to stand at US$2,625 per tonne and US$2,627 per tonne. They further climbed by US$8 per tonne and US$7 per tonne on December 9 to US$2,633 per tonne and US$2,634 per tonne, respectively. However, the prices closed the week lower at US$2,617 per tonne and US$2,619 per tonne as of December 10.

December 22 bid price and December 22 offer price opened the week at US$2,488 per tonne and US$2,493 per tonne and closed at US$2,610 per tonne and US$2,615 per tonne.

LME aluminium opening stock closed the week higher at 913200 tonnes on December 10 compared to 898450 tonnes on December 6.

SHFE Aluminium Price Trend

On Monday, December 6, the benchmark aluminium price for SHFE hiked by US$28 per tonne to stand at US$2,964 per tonne, but decreased the next day to US$2,941 per tonne. On Wednesday, December 8, SHFE aluminium price rebounded by US$28 per tonne to US$2,968 per tonne. On December 9 and 10, the price slipped by US$6 per tonne and US$4 per tonne, respectively, to peg at US$2,962 per tonne and US$2,958 per tonne, respectively.
