
The LME complex rose broadly on Tuesday but aluminium shed 0.98 per cent. Benchmark aluminium price on the London Metal Exchange decreased 1 per cent to US$ 2022 per tonne, as of Tuesday, December 15.

Both LME aluminium cash (bid) price and LME official settlement price relapsed to US$ 2022 per tonne on December 15, from US$ 2042.50 per tonne on December 14. 3-months bid price and 3-months offer price stood at US$ 2038 per tonne, down by US$ 16 per tonne from US$ 2054 per tonne. Dec 21 bid price and Dec 21 offer price came in at US$ 2067 per tonne.
The LME aluminium opening stock remained almost restrained at 1357375 tonnes on December 15. Live Warrants stood at 1175000 tonnes, while Cancelled Warrants at 182375 tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-months Asian Reference Price stood at US$ 2037per tonne, as of Tuesday, December 15.
SHFE Aluminium Price Trend
Benchmark aluminium price for SHFE decreased for the third day in a row to stand at US$ 2501 per tonne on Tuesday, December 15, 2020.
The most-liquid SHFE 2101 aluminium contract finished the day 0.28 per cent lower at RMB 16,230 per tonne. Open interest fell 5,081 lots to 118,752 lots. Operating rates at aluminium extrusion producers rose slightly from October at 63.10 per cent in November.
