
LME aluminium opened at US$3,030 per tonne on Monday and closed at US$3,038 per tonne, an increase of US$15.5 per tonne or 0.51 per cent.

Both LME aluminium cash (bid) price and LME aluminium official settlement price continued to decline over the weekend ending January 24 by US$35 per tonne or 1.14% to settle at US$3,044 per tonne and US$3,044.50 per tonne, respectively. 3-month bid price and 3-month offer price decreased by US$31 per tonne and US$30 per tonne to come in at US$3,029 per tonne and US$3,031 per tonne. However, December 23 bid price and December 23 offer price closed higher at US$2,767 per tonne and US$2,772 per tonne, for the same day.
LME aluminium opening stock totalled at 859800 tonnes. Live warrants stood at 451525 tonnes, while Cancelled warrants came in at 408275 tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price hovered around US$3,016.75 per tonne, as of January 24.
SHFE aluminium price
On Tuesday, January 25, the benchmark aluminium price for SHFE has gained US$13 per tonne to reach at US$3,343 per tonne, following a plunge of US$44 per tonne on the previous day.
The most-traded SHFE 2203 aluminium closed down 2.32 per cent or RMB 500 per tonne to stand at RMB 21025 per tonne, with open interest down 7129 lots to 210546 lots.
Overnight, the most-traded SHFE 2203 aluminium contract opened at RMB 21,040 per tonne, with the highest and lowest prices at RMB 21,175 per tonne and RMB 20,995 per tonne before closing at RMB 21,110 per tonne, down RMB 90 per tonne or 0.05 per cent.
