LME aluminium price closes the week with a dip of US$11/t; SHFE market is closed for New Year’s Holiday
On Friday, December 30, both LME aluminium cash bid price and LME aluminium official settlement price closed the week with a dip of US$11 per tonne or 0.46 per cent to close at US$2,360 per tonne and US$2,360.50 per tonne.
As per the SMM data, 3-month bid price and 3-month offer price also slipped by US$7 per tonne or 0.29 per cent to reside at US$2,391 per tonne and US$2,392 per tonne.
December 23 bid price and December 23 offer price closed at US$2,470 per tonne and US$2,475 per tonne after recording a slip of US$10 per tonne or 0.40 per cent.
LME aluminium opening stock closed at 450300 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants halted at 201350 tonnes and 248950 tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price, on the other hand, hiked by US$27.48 per tonne or 1.15 per cent to score at US$2,409.90 per tonne.
SHFE aluminium price
The SHFE market is closed today for the New Year’s Holiday. However, on Friday, December 30, the benchmark price for SHFE closed at US$2,692 per tonne.

The most-traded SHFE 2302 aluminium closed down 0.03 per cent or RMB 5 per tonne at RMB 18,700 per tonne, with open interest down 12,913 lots to 136,749 lots.
