

LME aluminium prices moved higher on March 11 compared with March 10, while exchange inventories recorded a slight decline.
{alcircleadd}On March 11, the LME aluminium cash bid price stood at USD 3,465 per tonne, up from USD 3,402 per tonne on March 10, marking an increase of USD 63 or 1.85 per cent. The cash offer price rose to USD 3,467 per tonne from USD 3,402.5 per tonne, gaining USD 64.5 or 1.90 per cent.
The LME aluminium 3-month contract also strengthened. The 3-month bid price reached USD 3,442 per tonne on March 11, compared with USD 3,388 per tonne on March 10, reflecting a rise of USD 54 or 1.59 per cent. The 3-month offer price increased to USD 3,444 per tonne from USD 3,390 per tonne, also up USD 54 or 1.59 per cent.
In contrast, longer-dated contracts softened. The December 2027 bid price declined to USD 3,153 per tonne on March 11 from USD 3,165 per tonne on March 10, a drop of USD 12 or 0.38 per cent. The December 2027 offer price also decreased by USD 12, from USD 3,170 per tonne to USD 3,158 per tonne, down 0.38 per cent.

The LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price stood at USD 3,457 per tonne on March 11.
Meanwhile, LME aluminium warehouse stocks fell slightly. Opening stocks declined from 454,625 tonnes on March 10 to 452,375 tonnes on March 11, a reduction of 2,250 tonnes or 0.49 per cent.
Within the inventory breakdown, live warrants edged up marginally from 272,775 tonnes to 272,800 tonnes, an increase of 25 tonnes or about 0.01 per cent. Cancelled warrants decreased from 178,600 tonnes to 177,325 tonnes, down 1,275 tonnes or 0.71 per cent.
The LME alumina Platts price stood at USD 302.77 per tonne.
