
On Friday, December 29, both LME aluminium cash bid price and LME aluminium official settlement price gained US$21.5 per tonne or 0.92 per cent and US$22 per tonne or 0.95 per cent to settle at US$2,334.50 per tonne and US$2,335.50 per tonne.

As per the London Metal Exchange (LME) data, 3-month bid price and 3-month offer price hiked by US$15 per tonne or 0.63 per cent to reside at US$2,381 per tonne and US$2,382 per tonne. December 24 bid price and December 24 offer price expanded by US$15 per tonne or 0.60 per cent to peg at US$2,495 per tonne and US$2,500 per tonne.
LME aluminium opening stock came in at 549050 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants halted at 356125 tonnes and 192925 tonnes. LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price dipped by US$2.17 per tonne to reach US$2,379.54 per tonne.
SHFE aluminium price
As of today, January 1, 2024, the SHFE market is closed on New Year’s Eve from December 30, 2023 (Saturday) to January 1, 2024 (Monday). However, on Friday, December 29, the Shanghai Future Exchange (SHFE) aluminium price chart recorded a fall of US$4 per tonne to close at US$2,756 per tonne. On a year-on-year basis, we can calculate a US$69 per tonne or 2.57 per cent surge from US$2,687 recorded on December 29, last year.
