
Jordan is comprised of a mixed economic system that provides a variety of private freedom, combined with centralized economic planning and government regulation. The industrial sector is a high contributor to Jordan's GDP and it is the 2nd largest sector of the economy.

The manufacturing sector is considered as the most vital and the light manufacturing sector of the country produces some good amount of aluminium scrap. During 2019-20, the Arab country of Southwest Asia, Jordan exported 22,697 tonnes of aluminium scrap, creating revenue earning of around $30.27 million.

In 2019, the aluminium scrap export of Jordan was registered at 11,488 tonnes, incurring earnings of $15.40 million, whereas, in 2020, the export unveiled downfall by 2.42%, as the export volume dropped marginally to 11,209 tonnes, counting revenue earnings of $14.87 million.
Jordan’s export of aluminium scrap in 2021 is evaluated with a sharp growth of 66.61%, as the export volume is anticipated to attain 18,670 tonnes and the earnings are also predicted to cross $32 million.

The major trading destinations for Jordan’s export of aluminium scrap are Belgium, Greece, India, South Korea, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Italy, etc.
