Jiayuguan City has vigorously implemented key industry upgrading actions, increased effective investment in leading industries, comprehensively improved the ability of innovation drive, intelligent transformation, structural optimisation, and chain extension, and made every effort to build a high-quality development engine in recent years.
The Jiayuguan City is working on multiple projects like strengthening the industrial chain that processes electrolytic aluminium and aluminium products worth hundreds of billions. Also, by leveraging the raw material supply from Dongxing Aluminium and the presence of established aluminium processing enterprises such as Jiayu, Mingxiang, and Guangyin, their objective is to excel in the non-ferrous industries.

This will involve the establishment of downstream enterprises specialising in the value-added finishing of aluminium plates and foil tubes, the production of high-end aluminium alloy bars, the manufacturing of aluminium alloy building materials, and the production of aviation-grade aluminium.
This proposal aims to advocate for developing a significant project, including the construction of a 6 million alumina and new materials facility by Jiatang Aluminium Industry. The primary objective of this endeavour is to achieve the expansion of the aluminium industry through the establishment of an upstream extension.
The objective is to promote the nationwide transfer of electrolytic aluminium production capacity by introducing electrolytic aluminium production firms and subsequently augmenting the city's electrolytic aluminium production capacity. The objective is to assist prominent enterprises in developing and manufacturing high-value products, specifically aluminium for new energy vehicles, aluminium for photovoltaics, and special aluminium foil.
Additionally, efforts will be made to introduce projects involving the deep processing of aluminium, including aluminium profiles, aluminium furniture, and aluminium conductor materials. The aim is to achieve a transformation of more than 85% of the aluminium liquid in its original location, thereby expediting the establishment of a comprehensive aluminium industrial system that supports both the upstream and downstream sectors of the "alumina-electrolytic aluminium-aluminium products deep processing" chain.
The objective is to establish a solid groundwork for the project, expedite the advancement of downstream sectors involved in the deep processing of aluminium, consistently strengthen the development basis of the aluminium industry, and establish a novel and prominent hub for the growth of the aluminium industry in the western region, characterised by substantial value addition.
