After receiving the ASI Performance Standard Certification last month, Jiangsu Zhongji Lamination Materials Co., Ltd achieved Certification to the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative’s Chain of Custody for its aluminium foil production facility in Jiangyin City, China. The certification covers post-casthouse activities related to the company's aluminium foil production.

Fiona Solomon, Chief Executive Officer at ASI, said: “Warm congratulations to Jiangsu Zhongji for achieving CoC Certification soon after their Performance Standard Certification last month. The commitment of foil suppliers to ASI supports the focus on sustainability and responsible sourcing by downstream customers in the packaging sector and other foil-using sectors.”
The ASI CoC Standard sets out requirements for the creation of a Chain of Custody for material that is produced and processed through the value chain into diverse downstream sectors, ASI said.
The ASI Certification program is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process. The independent, third-party audit of Jiangsu Zhongji was carried out by DNV GL.
Zhu Hongyu, General Manager of Jiangsu Zhongji Company, said: “We are very happy to pass the ASI CoC Certification, and we are very grateful for the management of DNV and ASI that we strongly support during the certification process. In the future, we will continue to support it.”
