
The use of aluminium tubes and pipes in the building construction sector is found incessantly increasing. For having a distinctive combination like versatility and affordability, the demand for aluminium extruxed products seems to be unstoppable. Other advantages like high strength to weight ratio, air tightness, corrosion resistance, and receptiveness are making aluminium pipes and tubes even more popular in building construction.
To cash on this, Italy, on the other hand, is leaving no stone unturned to increase its aluminium tubes and pipes export volume as well as value, found global export-import data. In 2018, even though the country’s export amount had dwindled but the value remained firm. By exporting 24,878 tonnes of aluminium tubes and pipes, Italy had yielded around US$90 million, compared to US$84 million against exporting 26,394 tonnes in 2017. In 2016, the country had exported 18,257 tonnes of aluminium tubes and pipes, which indicates that the export amount in 2017 stood 25 per cent higher than in 2016. This year again, the country’s export volume is expected to record a hike from the previous year totalling at 25,159 tonnes, up 1.12 per cent.

Coming back to the export value, Italy had generated US$58 million from exporting aluminium tubes and pipes, which in 2017 grew along with the volume to US$84 million, up 45 per cent. As mentioned before, Italy’s aluminium tubes and pipes export value extended further in 2018 to US$90 million despite a fall in export volume. This bullish trend is likely to continue in 2019 as well. According to our available data, the country is estimated to yield US$96 million this year, up 7 per cent Y-o-Y.

Germany is expected to be the top importer of aluminium tubes and pipes from Italy this year, procuring 6,296 million tonnes, followed by France 3,271 tonnes and Poland 1,979 tonnes.
