Aluminium ingot production in Iran surged by 20 percent throughout the Iranian calendar year 1400, which ended on March 20, says the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO). IMIDRO is a large state-owned holding corporation operating in Iran's mining sector.
According to IMIDRO statistics, yearly aluminium ingot output was 538,633 tonnes in 1400, 446,836 tonnes in 1399, and 278,318 tonnes in 1398. By the Iranian calendar year 1404 the country intends to produce 1.5 million tonnes of aluminium ingot annually (March 2025-March 2026).
Apart from this, South Aluminum Corporation (SALCO) manufactured 173,594 tonnes of aluminium ingots, Almahdi Aluminum Company produced 150,738 tonnes, and Iran Alumina Company produced 37,243 tonnes. In the previous year, the country's annual production of aluminium ingot was expected to expand by 63 percent.
Iranian officials believe that the country's aluminium sector is worth $22 billion, enough to cover the country's aluminium requirements. Iran is now the 18th largest producer of aluminium in the world. Iranian Aluminum Company (IRALCO), one of the country's four major manufacturers, had the greatest last year, producing 177,058 tonnes of aluminium ingots, up from 185,000 tonnes the year before.
