It comes with rigid forks, frames, wheel rims, handlebars, and all those things that are lightweight and sustainable as mobility solutions.
{alcircleadd}The newly commissioned plant has been established to serve both the Indian and overseas markets and focuses on producing a range of aluminium bicycle components. It includes frames, rigid forks, wheel rims, handlebars, and more that reflect the company’s growing emphasis on lightweight and sustainable mobility solutions.
The new facility comes with excellent production capabilities powered by advanced manufacturing and finishing technologies. It is expected to manufacture 500,000 bicycle frames and forks yearly, alongside 750,000 handlebars and 800,000 pairs of wheel rims, approximately.
This project is aligned with Hindalco’s broader strategy to expand its portfolio of value-added aluminium products while increasing its presence in mobility-focused applications. Rather than solely relying on primary aluminium production, the company has been steadily diversifying into specialised products that offer higher value and wider industrial applications.
Hindalco already owns a substantial range of value-added aluminium offerings, and the portfolio includes flat-rolled products, aluminium extrusions, powder coating and anodising, along with aluminium foils used in food packaging and pharmaceuticals. At present, the company has also specialised in aerospace-grade aluminium alloys through its subsidiary, Hindalcco Almex Aerospace.
The recent expansion reflects Hindalco’s strategic shift to domestic and international markets and aligns with the evolving consumer demands in the mobility sector.
