Global aluminium cans production reaches around 285 billion in 2016

<p>According to a new research report by Technavio, the global aluminium cans market has grown at a CAGR of around 2.7 per cent during 2009-2016. The total aluminium cans production volume stood at around 285 billion in 2016.</p>

<p>As per the study, the beverage sector currently accounts for the majority of the global aluminium cans consumption, the food sector being the second.</p>
<p>The report segmented geography-wise global aluminium cans consumption. North America is the biggest consumer of aluminium cans accounting for more than one-third of the total global consumption. North America is followed by Western Europe and Asia-Pacific.</p>

<p>Rexam represents the biggest producer accounting for more than one-fifth of the total global aluminium cans market followed by Crown and Ball.</p>
<p>Also, Technavio's analysts forecast the global metal cans market for food and beverage industry to grow at a CAGR of 3.06% during the period 2017-2021.</p>
