German company Xolution to launch second generation re-sealable can ends

The technology was introduced the XO closure two years ago following R&D of four years. The company now plans to expand its business by increasing production capacity to 400 million units annually in January 2016.
The resealing mechanism is a sliding closure plastic strap joined to the aluminium shell that glides back and forth over the opening and has a tamper proof seal that assures the can has not been used or opened before.
The first generation variants were seen in the market with companies like Vulcano in Brazil, E-On in Russia and Epic in Pakistan trying the new technology, while the second generation can ends promise to be thinner and heat resistant for supporting high-temperature pasteurization and hot fill.
The company says their major hurdle is that they are still a relatively young company and they need to work on being recognized in the market.
