Fehrmann ALLOYS launches new aluminium alloy for 3D printing at Formnext Connect 2020

Fehrmann Alloys, based in Hamburg, Germany, has added new high-performance alloy for 3D printing to its aluminium alloy portfolio. The company has introduced AlMgty 90 at Formnext Connect 2020.

The new aluminium alloy AlMgty 90 comes with a 25 percent higher hardness than its predecessor. The new product is used in Selective Laser Melting (SLM) and Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) 3D printing processes.
AlMgty-90 offers the following benefits:

- Anodisable even in colour
- Polishable
- No exotic ingredients
- Attractive price
The company recently launched silicon-free high-performance aluminium alloy AlMgty to add colour to metal parts produced by additive manufacturing. The parts and components printed with AlMgty can be easily anodised in various colours as corrosion protection and for decorative purposes.
