Innovative applications of aluminium in the end-use sector know no bounds. Week comes and week goes, but we never fall short of surprising products made of aluminium. One such was DigitⓇ displayed at ProMat, one of the leading tradeshows in the US known for showcasing newest industry advances. DigitⓇ is a humanoid warehouse worker who walked erect on goatlike legs and plucked containers off shelves with strong arms fashioned of aerospace-grade aluminium. This technology, developed by Oregon-based Agility Robotics, can do a wide range of jobs and adapt to a wide range of processes; a fleet of Digits will be able to switch between applications based on current warehouse demands and seasonal changes.
