Ford has produced more than 5,000 large aluminium unicastings at its Shelbyville Technical Center as it advances manufacturing preparations for the Fathom midsize electric truck, scheduled to launch in 2027. The US imports of crude metal and alloys rose 10% year-on-year to stand at 316,000 tonnes in May 2020. Crude metal and alloys import were at 287,000 tonnes in May 2019.
