Ford has produced more than 5,000 large aluminium unicastings at its Shelbyville Technical Center as it advances manufacturing preparations for the Fathom midsize electric truck, scheduled to launch in 2027. The US imported 253,000 tonnes of crude metal and alloys in July, an increase of 177.41% year-on-year. On a month-on-month comparison, imports reduced by 3.44% from 262,000 tonnes in June, according to the latest Mineral Industry Survey report from US Geological Survey. In the first seven months of 2020, the US imports of crude metal and alloy stood at 2.080 million tonnes, from 1.9 million tonnes in the first seven months of 2019.
