Last week, the downstream aluminium sector experienced a whiff of turmoil, with ARK Investment Management LLC curtailing its 11 per cent stake in Kaiser Aluminium during the fourth and last quarter of the year. Spanish brand Teknia acquired Swedish injection moulding specialist Svensk Tryckgjutning to augment the quality of their flagship magnesium or aluminium steering and chassis components. US-based Boose Aluminum Foundry witnessed a horrible fire last year, which made them eligible for a land development plan attested by the East Cocalico supervisors in 2023. On the bright side, the world is preparing for the 12th edition of the Aluminium Two Thousand Congress, one of the most awaited conferences for aluminium industry associates, which will be conducted from September 19 to September 23 at the Royal Hotel Carlton, Bologna, Italy.

The Cannock-based family-owned architectural fabrication business, Weldall, supporting the construction industry by offering bespoke welding and fabricated products in aluminium, stainless steel and mild steel, serving the entire UK, is set to increase its efficiency and production capabilities. East Cocalico supervisors agreed unanimously for a land development plan waiver from the US-based Boose Aluminum Foundry, which had experienced a devastating fire nearly a year prior. As per the sources, the fire started in the finishing area, where workers ground the aluminium castings. The building destroyed in the fire on April 19, 2022, was 11,740 square feet.

ARK Investment Management LLC has decreased its stake by 11 per cent during the fourth quarter (Q4) in Kaiser Aluminum, based on the analysis of the most recent SEC filing. After selling 3,257 shares during the period, the company now owned 26,251 shares of the industrial products company's stock. As of its most recent SEC disclosure, ARK Investment Management LLC held approximately 0.16 per cent of Kaiser Aluminum for $1,994,000.

In January 2023, the United States exported 63,000 tonnes of aluminium plates, sheets and bars compared to 55,200 tonnes in December 2022. That reflected an increase of 7,800 tonnes or 14.13 per cent month-on-month, found the US Census Bureau data. However, in December, the export volume plunged by 8,900 tonnes month-on-month from 64,100 tonnes.
