The introduction of the RVM is a significant step in our journey towards a greener future. We earnestly invite everyone to join us in making a positive environmental impact. In line with our brand ethos 'It's My Place, My Choice', this endaovour reinforces our commitment to providing a space where the community can actively contribute to sustainability."

About the RVM

This state-of-the-art RVM is initially configured to accept plastic, with plans to incorporate aluminium and glass recycling shortly. The machine boasts advanced technology, including a glass crusher module and a plastic and aluminium shredder module. To ensure efficient processing of recyclable materials, the RVM utilizes Aco Recycling's top-of-the-line AI Recognition Tech.

This initiative underscores Doha Festival City's commitment to sustainability and encourages visitors to participate actively in recycling efforts. The mall continues to pave the way for eco-friendly practices within the community, providing an accessible and innovative solution for recycling needs.

The Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) at Doha Festival City can upload various reward models, ensuring an engaging recycling experience for users. It securely stores every transaction, including photos, on cloud servers, enhancing efficiency and accountability.

About the initiative

This innovative approach to recycling has many benefits. The RVM plays a crucial role in minimizing environmental impact by reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills. Furthermore, it contributes to lowering greenhouse gas emissions, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change. Ultimately, this initiative at Doha Festival City actively participates in the worldwide movement to decrease pollution, offering a sustainable solution while promoting community engagement.

Doha Festival City has long been a beacon of dedication to recycling and sustainability, which is evident through its eco-conscious initiatives and practices. Over the years, the mall has been at the forefront of waste management innovations and water conservation efforts, significantly lessening its ecological impact.

In partnership with the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA), Doha Festival City has introduced EV charging stations, actively promoting the adoption of electric vehicles and contributing to reducing carbon emissions in the region.

Moreover, the mall's comprehensive food waste segregation program, supported by more than 80 dining outlets, effectively transforms organic waste into valuable compost. This initiative enhances the mall's landscaping and plays a pivotal role in minimizing waste destined for landfills. These efforts underscore Doha Festival City's enduring commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable practices, showcasing its unwavering dedication to a greener future.
