Local media in Myanmar report Singapore’s Ocean Sentinels Ship Management has handed over around $1m as compensation to Myanmar seafarers and families involved in the Harita Bauxite ship sinking in February, in which 15 people perished.
The Harita Bauxite sank in Philippine waters on its way to China from Indonesia on the night of February 16. The ship sank due to engine troubles caused by bad weather.
