
According to Shanghai Metals Market, stocks of aluminium billet across five major consumption areas in China declined for the first time after the Chinese New Year. Inventories of aluminium billet decreased 9,500 tonnes from a week ago to 236,800 tonnes as of Thursday March 11.

Inventories of aluminium billets in Nanchang dropped the most, standing at 12,600 tonnes on Thursday, 11 March 2021. That was down by 5,500 tonnes from March 4. The stock in Foshan and Huzhou stood at 109,800 tonnes and 29,000 tonnes, a drop of 4,500 tonnes and 2,000 tonnes from last week.
Stocks of aluminium billets in Wuxi and Changzhou built up slightly by 1,600 tonnes and 800 tonnes today. Inventories came in at 60,800 tonnes and 24,600 tonnes on Thursday, 11 March 2021.
