Chile’s import of Aluminium Plates, Sheets and Strips during 2018-20 validates de-growth; expenditure tends to remain high

Chile is considered as the richest country in all of South America with exceedingly high living standards as well as a well-developed economy. The Latin American nation’s import volume of aluminium plates, sheets and strips during 2018-19 was recorded at 52,950 tonnes and the foreign revenue expended during the phase for the importation remained at $219.94 million. The import for 2020 is marked to reach at 22,102 tonnes and the expenditure to stand at $133 million. However, when the import volume and expenditure of 2020 gets assorted with the existing two years, it denotes 75,052 tonnes and $352.94 million respectively.

Chile’s import of aluminium plates, sheets and strips in 2018 stood at 30,717 tonnes and the expenditure remained at $104.70 million, whereas, in 2019 the import saw de-growth by 27.61%, as the import volume falls to 22,233 tonnes, while expenditure rises to $115.24 million.

The import for 2020 is expected to reach 22,102 tonnes, a drop of 0.58%, but the expenditure to remain at the higher side and reach $133 million.
