Canada’s M-o-M exports of aluminium plates, sheets and bars surge by 2.06% to 19,800 tonnes
Canada’s exports of aluminium plates, sheets and bars to the United States for February 2022 closed at 19,800 tonnes, following a month-on-month increase of 400 tonnes or 2.06 per cent from 19,400 tonnes in January 2022. On a month-on-month basis, a growth of 300 tonnes or 1.57 per cent was recorded in January from 19,100 tonnes in December 2021.
As per the USGS data, the total amount of aluminium plates, sheets and bars imported by the United States for February 2022 settled at 33,100 tonnes, which on a month-on-month scale showed no change to close at 33,100 tonnes for January 2022. A decline of 7,400 tonnes or 18.27 per cent was recorded in January on a month-on-month scale from 40,500 tonnes in December 2021.
For the entire year 2021, a total of 626,000 tonnes of aluminium plates, sheets and bars were exported to the United States. As per the USGS data, Canada is the highest exporter of aluminium plates, sheets and bars with an amount closing at 19,800 tonnes and China is the highest importer of aluminium plates, sheets and bars with an amount residing at 16,400 tonnes for February 2022.
