Bosnia's Alumina doo is located in the Industrial zone of Zvornik, Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina and is into the production of alumina, hydrate, zeolite and water glass. Alumina Ltd is the only company in the south part of the Middle Europe which processes bauxite through Bayer's process and produce different types of hydrates and alumina.

The company is expected to start the construction of a new production facility from this month only. In 2017 it invested 25 million marka in the construction of two facilities in order to expand into non-metallurgical production of alumina. CEO Milorad Motika said in an interview posted on the company website of the company. The plants that were built in 2017 were for production of finely precipitated hydrates, and for production of silica gel and special zeolites.

"With these new production facilities we have opened up the company's perspective for the coming years, with a tendency to completely switch to a non-metallurgical production programme, which will bring us more profit, higher employment and increased security in the coming period," Motika said.

According to him, in view of the volatile nature of metal prices in the international market and fluctuating demand and price of raw materials like alumina, sticking to a strictly metallurgical programme may not be profitable for Alumina in future.
