
Bahrain’s imported products were valued at BD515 million ($1.366 billion) in October 2018, up 17 per cent from BD439 million ($1.164 billion) in October 2017, said the foreign trade report by Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) for the month of October. China and the USA were the major exporters to the country last month. Alumina emerged as the top product imported to the country with BD43 million ($114.1 million).
Exports from Bahrain increased to BD171 million ($453.7 million) in October 2018, as compared to BD170 million ($451.1 million) for the same month of the previous year. The country exported most of its products to Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the USA.

Bahrain exported BD27 million ($71.6 million) worth of aluminium wire to the global markets, the top product exported in October. Unwrought aluminium exported with a value of BD19 million ($50.4 million).
Midal Cables Ltd. and Universal Wire are the two major aluminium wire producing companies in Bahrain.
