On Friday, December 29, the average alumina spot price in China heightened by RMB 47 per tonne to settle at RMB 3,119 per tonne. The alumina prices have been rising recently due to Guinea's fuel depot blast. As per the Shanghai Metals Market (SMM) data, the prices have grown significantly in all the provinces.
To begin with, the prices in Shanxi and Henan have surged by RMB 55 per tonne and RMB 50 per tonne to settle at RMB 3,165 per tonne and RMB 3,130 per tonne. In Guizhou, the average alumina spot price has expanded by RMB 45 per tonne to peg at RMB 3,110 per tonne, followed by a rise of RMB 35 per tonne in Guizhou and Shandong to halt at RMB 3,090 per tonne and RMB 3,050 per tonne.
On the same day, the A00 aluminium ingot price showed no change to clock at RMB 19,570 per tonne, with the average prices between RMB 19,550 per tonne and RMB 19,590 per tonne. As per the data, the domestic aluminium ingot prices have grown in Wuxi and Tianjin, where they have hiked by RMB 50 per tonne to settle at RMB 19,600 per tonne and RMB 19,570 per tonne. In Hangzhou, it has ascended by RMB 40 per tonne to stop at RMB 19,600 per tonne. In Foshan and Gongyi, the prices have fallen by RMB 50 per tonne and RMB 10 per tonne to reach RMB 19,510 per tonne and RMB 19,440 per tonne.
The domestic price of low-carbon aluminium has declined by RMB 46 per tonne to a halt at RMB 20,335 per tonne. The prices of high-purity aluminium (99.99%) and high-purity aluminium (99.996%) have shown no change to settle at RMB 27,300 per tonne and RMB 28,300 per tonne.
