India imposes anti-dumping duty on aluminium foil imports from China, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia
The Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India has imposed definitive anti-dumping duty on aluminium foil imports of thickness 80 microns and below from China, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. The validation of the duty is for five years, while it ranges from $93.53 to $976.99 per tonne depending on the producer and country of export. The latest finance department action comes from its investigating arm Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) recommendation in its final findings in June 2021 for levy of such duties. DGTR initiated the anti-dumping probe, following the receipt of the petition from Hindalco Industries, Jindal, and Raviraj Foils.
