China’s aluminium plate/sheet, strip & foil operating rates slightly up in Feb'23, given a slow improvement in new orders
According to the Shanghai Metals Market survey, the average operating rates of China's domestic aluminium plate/sheet and strip producers stood month-on-month higher by 0.62 percentage point at 63.15 per cent during February 2023. But on a year-on-year basis, the operating rates edged a significant downfall of 14.26 percentage point. In February, aluminium plate/sheet and strip production grew, along with the downstream orders owing to the peak season ahead. At the same time, the inventory of finished products held by many companies decreased sharply from the previous month. It represents the first Guinean entity to receive ASI Certification. South America’s monthly alumina production initiates 2023 with a 1% drop
In January 2023, alumina production in South America stood at 1.029 million tonnes, reflecting a month-on-month decline of 1.25 per cent from 1.042 million tonnes, found the International Aluminium Institute survey. However, on a year-on-year calculation, the output recorded an increase of 3.42 per cent from 995,000 tonnes. The daily average output of aluminium ore in South America was 33,200 tonnes during January 2023, marginally down by 400 tonnes from 33,600 tonnes a month ago.
