As part of Recycling Week 2018 (September 24 to September 30), East Cambridgeshire District Council is supporting a nationwide campaign MetalMatters to help increase the rate of recycling household metal throughout the district. MetalMatters is managed by the Aluminium Packaging Recycling Organisation (Alupro). Through this campaign, it aims to reassure residents that they can recycle all metal packaging found around their home, including drink cans, food tins, aluminium foil, empty aerosols and metal lids from jars. To promote activities of the campaign will include sending leaflets to every home and displaying information throughout the district. FYI Resources Ltd. has reportedly completed the preliminary feasibility study (PFS) for its 100 per cent-owned Cadoux Kaolin Project in Western Australia. PFS confirms that the objective of FYI with this project is to become a predominant vertically-integrated, long life producer of high-purity alumina (HPA). According to FYI PFS’ report, the project would be producing up to 8,000 tonnes of HPA per annum with low capital and operating costs, and would be delivering a net present value (NPV0 of US$506 million for a 25-year project life. Shanghai Metals Market found operating rate across 50 Chinese aluminium extrusion manufacturers extended a decline in August on sluggish demand from the construction extrusion sector. The survey by SMM found that manufacturers in August operated at 57.3 per cent, 2.2 percentage down from the previous month. The operating rate for construction extrusion sector also fell by 2.46 percentage points from July to stand at 57.94 per cent, while that for industrial extrusion sector climbed 0.22 percentage points to 51.02 per cent. Primary aluminium inventories in China have once again recorded a plunge on September 20 because of improved consumption.
