Leicester City Council with Alupro aims to increase citywide aluminium foil recycling rate
According to a recent report, Leicester City Council has teamed up with Alupro, the aluminium packaging recycling organisation, to help residents recycle more of their aluminium foil trays and wrapping foil. Alupro runs the “Foil in Love with Recycling” campaign, funded by the European Aluminium Foil Association, to help the aluminium packaging industry achieve and exceed recycling rates, a current set for 64 per cent by 2020. Anyone living in Leicester can easily recycle used aluminium foil by putting it in their orange bags or recycling bins. On Friday, August 16, Elysis reportedly marked the start of construction of its Research and Development Centre within Rio Tinto's Complexe Jonquière, the site of the Arvida smelter, Vaudreuil refinery, and Arvida Research and Development Centre. China’s daily primary aluminium production slipped 3% M-o-M in July
According to the National Bureau of Statistics survey, China’s daily production of primary aluminium fell in July month-on-month. Output averaged around 96,000 tonnes, down 3,000 tonnes or 3 per cent from 99,000 tonnes in June. This decline in daily output could be attributed to the production cut at some of the Chinese aluminium smelters in July. According to the research house Antaike, around 220,000 tonnes of annual production was cut in July, including China Zhongwang Holding’s smelter in the northeast province of Liaoning. According to a recent report, National Aluminium Company (Nalco) has proposed to set up a new division where it will develop technology for making equipment specific to the domestic aluminium sector.
