According to the Shanghai Metals Market report, alumina production capacity in Shanxi, Shandong, and Henan has come in at 15.02 million tonnes per year for the moment after being undergone output cuts or suspensions due to environmental protection policies. Most refineries in Jinzhong and Lvliang in Shanxi have suspended or reduced roasting capacities, with a combined capacity of 5.95 million tonnes. On Wednesday, February 2, the Aluminium Association of India demanded from the government a supply of 25-30 coal rakes per day to ensure viable operations of the aluminium industry.
