AMAG Austria Metall AG, a premium supplier of high-quality cast and rolled aluminium products, along with ACP Cubido, a specialist in data collection, analysis, and processing software solutions, was awarded a special "gem" by ICT Austria. AMAG emerged as the winner in the category of "Data Science - scoring points in quality standards and sustainability" and was awarded the "Gem for sustainable digitalisation projects".
In addition to supporting the domestic ICT sector to keep pace with the rapid pace of innovation of global competition, ICT Austria has been established as a non-profit association to maximize its strengths. It plans to position itself powerfully nationally and internationally by leveraging our existing strengths.
In the annual event of ICT Austria - Center for Business Technology, under the theme "#Sustainable Digitalization", Dr Werner Aumayr, CIO of AMAG Austria Metall AG, and WOLFGANG Ennikl MBA, CEO of ACP CUBIDO Digital Solutions, accepted the award in partnership with Manuela Schreyer, Data Analyst in AMAG's Corporate Technology department.

Using IoT, Big Data, Data Science, and Microsoft Azure, the award-winning project reduces scrap and saves energy and raw materials. With over 15 years of experience in manufacturing rolled and cast aluminium products, AMAG has developed physics-based simulation tools.
Statistical methods and the so-called Big Data approach in solving material and process development issues started to complement this a few years ago. As a result of combining these IT solution initiatives, AMAG has experienced very successful new developments and optimisations.
