Aluminium body of 2015 Ford F-150 unlikely to hurt resales, observe experts

Even before the 2015 Ford F-150 arrived at dealerships there has been some scepticism about the car due to it having body panels made from aluminium. On the plus side was the fact that the aluminium helped the vehicle to shed 700 pounds, which means its better on the fuel economy, on the downside is the fact that there could be higher repair costs. However it is looking as though the aluminium isn’t in fact going to hurt resales.
It is now looking as though the resale value for the 2015 Ford F-150 is on the rise, based on the latest calculations. Experts now say that it will hold 58% of its value over three years. Compared to this was the 2014 model which came in at 52%. The figure means that Ford now has the highest resale value forecast in full-size pick-ups in the US.
The 2015 Toyota Tundra held 63%, the GMC Sierra and 2015 Chevrolet Silverado each had 51% and the Ram 1500 had 46% while the 2015 Nissan Titan held 42%.
It is thought that as the 2015 Ford F-150 has better fuel economy with the weight loss it has offset the higher body repair costs. This is good news for owners of course and Ford as Ford have been preparing for a long time to make the move to aluminium. They said that the body sections of the vehicle had been designed to make repairing the truck easier.
