Aluminium billet inventories in China dropped by 7000 tonnes W-o-W to 152,600 tonnes
A billet is one of the most widely used aluminium product forms globally. Billets are created directly through continuous casting or extrusion or indirectly through hot rolling an ingot or bloom. The billet usually is suitable for alloyed aluminium. As per the data, on Thursday, April 20, the aluminium billet inventories has nosedived by 7,000 tonnes W-o-W to score at 152,600 tonnes.
Shipments from social warehouses started to increase last week, while transit in Xinjiang was hampered, causing inventories to fall. SMM will closely monitor when transport in Xinjiang completely recovers and changes in downstream operating rates.

The aluminium billet inventories recorded a dropdown in all the major provinces except in Huzhou, where it closed at 26,000 tonnes after witnessing a hike of 1,000 tonnes. In other regions like Foshan, the aluminium billet inventory has slumped by 4,900 tonnes, stopping at 92,800 tonnes.
On the same day, in Wuxi, the inventory has contracted by 2,700 tonnes to halt at 23,900 tonnes, followed by a fall of 200 tonnes in Chongqing and Nanchang to reside at 6,100 tonnes and 3,800 tonnes.
