According to the Shanghai Metals Market, the average alumina spot price in China has closed the week ending April 21, 2023, with a drop of RMB 5 per tonne after remaining restrained for three consecutive days. The price has concluded at RMB 2,898 per tonne versus RMB 2,903 per tonne the previous days.

In Guizhou, alumina spot price has decreased by RMB 10 per tonne to stand at RMB 2,840 per tonne, while the price in Shandong and Shanxi has slipped by RMB 5 per tonne to RMB 2,905 per tonne and RMB 2,920 per tonne, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Australian alumina FOB price has remained restrained at US$355 per tonne since April 17.

China’s domestic A00 aluminium ingot price has dwindled by RMB 80 per tonne to peg at RMB 19,030 per tonne on April 21. The average prices are estimated to range between RMB 19,010 per tonne and RMB 19,050 per tonne, with a spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 10-50 per tonne.

Among the Chinese provinces, Wuxi and Hangzhou have witnessed an increase of RMB 80 per tonne and RMB 70 per tonne, respectively, to RMB 19,110 per tonne and RMB 19,120 per tonne. Otherwise, all other provinces have experienced a price cut.

According to SMM, the primary aluminium ingot price in Chongqing, Linyi, and Foshan has shrunk by RMB 80 per tonne to clock at RMB 19,080 per tonne, RMB 19,030 per tonne, and RMB 19,120 per tonne, respectively, followed by the fall of RMB 60 per tonne and RMB 50 per tonne in Shenyang and Tianjin to rest at RMB 19,000 per tonne and RMB 19,010 per tonne.

The domestic price of low-carbon aluminium has plunged by RMB 107 per tonne to close the week at RMB 19,675 per tonne, found SMM.

Aluminium alloy (A356) price has declined by RMB 100 per tonne to settle at RMB 19,900 per tonne, with average prices likely to range between RMB 19,700 per tonne and RMB 20,100 per tonne. Aluminium alloy (A380) price has dropped by RMB 25 per tonne to come in at RMB 20,375 per tonne as of April 21. The average prices are likely to range between RMB 20,250 per tonne and RMB 20,500 per tonne.

However, aluminium alloys (ADC12) price has recorded no change from RMB 19,400 per tonne on April 21.
