
Alumina production in Africa & Asia (ex-China) showcased a monthly increase of 5.26 per cent in July 2022, according to the International Aluminium Institute. From 1.141 million tonnes in June, the output grew to 1.201 million tonnes in July. However, the production in June saw a downfall of 5.7 per cent month-on-month from 1.210 million tonnes.

On a year-on-year calculation, alumina production in Africa & Asia (ex-China) during July 2022 recorded a hike as well by 6.76 per cent from 1.125 million tonnes, found IAI.
Africa & Asia's average daily alumina production in July’22 amounted to 38,700 tonnes, up by 1.84 per cent month-on-month from 38,000 tonnes and 7.5 per cent more year-on-year than 36,300 tonnes.
In the first seven months of 2022, Africa & Asia’s (ex-China) alumina output totalled 8.043 million tonnes, reflecting an increase of 6.12 per cent from 7.579 million tonnes during the same period last year.
Daily average production added up to 265,600 tonnes in the first seven months, compared to 250,300 tonnes a year ago.
World alumina production in July stood at 12.152 million tonnes, registering a month-on-month rise of 3.56 per cent from 11.734 million tonnes and a year-on-year increase of 3.52 per cent from 11.739 million tonnes.
