Alumina price in Henan exceeds RMB3000/t level with a gain of RMB10/t

According to the Shanghai Metals Market, the average alumina spot price has continued to increase by RMB 8 per tonne on Wednesday, October 25, to stand at RMB 3,009 per tonne. In Henan, the alumina price has built up RMB 10 per tonne to settle at RMB 3,010 per tonne, following a restraint at RMB 3,000 per tonne from October 19 to 24.

Shanxi and Guizhou have also witnessed a rise of RMB 10 per tonne in alumina spot price to peg at RMB 3,025 per tonne and RMB 3,005 per tonne, respectively, learned SMM.

Australian alumina FOB price has continued to stay muted at US$337 per tonne for about a week.

Among other primary aluminium input costs, aluminium powder price has grown by RMB 0.2 per kg to stand at RMB 21.4 per kg, with average prices estimated at RMB 21.3-21.5 per kg.

China’s imported bauxite price has slipped narrowly by US$0.06 per tonne to US$69.76 per tonne, while the domestic price has remained muted.

In tandem with the alumina price hike, A00 aluminium ingot price has climbed up by RMB 180 per tonne to exceed RMB 19,000 per tonne level. On Wednesday, October 25, the primary aluminium ingot price stands at RMB 19,090 per tonne, with average prices likely to range between RMB 19,070 per tonne and RMB 19,110 per tonne. The spot contract is estimated to be traded at a discount price of RMB 20 per tonne and a premium price of RMB 20 per tonne.

In Wuxi and Hangzhou, A00 aluminium ingot price has settled at RMB 19,070 per tonne, seeing a surge of RMB 190 per tonne. In Chongqing, Shenyang, and Gongyi, the primary aluminium ingot price has elevated by RMB 180 per tonne, RMB 170 per tonne, and RMB 160 per tonne, to come in at RMB 19,090 per tonne, RMB 19,140 per tonne, and RMB 18,970 per tonne, respectively.

Aluminium alloy (A356) price has also experienced a hike on October 25, in line with the rise in primary metal. According to SMM, aluminium alloy (A356) price has increased by RMB 150 per tonne to stand at RMB 19,750 per tonne, with average prices likely to range between RMB 19,600 per tonne and RMB 19,900 per tonne.

Aluminium alloys (ADC12) price and aluminium alloy (A380) price, on the other hand, have relatively gained less to clock in at RMB 19,600 per tonne and RMB 20,600 per tonne, as of Wednesday, October 25.
