Alucast, a leading Wednesbury-based aluminium casting foundry, announced its plan for establishing a new £1.2 million technical centre and machine shop during the celebration of company’s 50th year in business. The commencement of work on the new facility will begin in June.
John Swift, managing director of Alucast, said: ""Alucast has progressed a long way from a local jobbing shop foundry to an international aluminium foundry capable of competing with our global rivals by offering customers a complete supply service."
The company will house its existing CAD and MAGMA casting simulation facilities, non-destructive testing capabilities and the firm’s new five-axis CNC technology. With this new facility, the company aim up to £3m of new light weighting opportunities for complex castings in the automotive and agricultural markets.
