Alcom plans upgrade to higher-margin products

Aluminium Company of Malaysia Bhd (Alcom) is investing RM16 million to upgrade its factory to churn out products that can fetch higher margins like cap-stock, lacquered foil and composite panels, said managing director Sachin Satpute.
Alcom is the largest maker of rolled aluminium products in Malaysia. It operates from a sheet and foil plant at Bukit Raja, Klang. Its unit Alcom Nikkei Specialty Coatings Sdn Bhd makes coated finstock, a component in air-conditioners, at the same site.
